Austin FC Home Games: Go cheer on Austin’s first professional soccer team, Austin FC! The team has four home games in August where they will play at the new Q2 Stadium. August 4th at 8:00pm the team will play Houston. August 18th at 8:00pm they will host Vancouver. Then on August 21st at 8:00pm they will play Portland. 16th Annual Bat Fest: The biggest bat-viewing party of the year will be held on the Congress Avenue Bridge on August 28, 2021. Enjoy live music, local food and drink, a bat costume contest, children activities, and more than 50 arts and crafts vendors. The event will run from 4:00pm to 11:59pm. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 cash at the gate. Kids 8 and under are free with an adult. You can purchase tickets here. (100 S. Congress Ave., Austin, TX 78704)

 

Blues on the Green: Blues on the Green is back and will take place on August 10th and 11th at Zilker Park. Gather friends and family, pack a blanket, and enjoy the free concert series with performances by local artists. (2207 Lou Neff Rd, Austin, TX 78746)   

 

Donut Boat Rentals: Donut Boat rentals is exclusive to Lady Bird Lake and provides small groups an electric boat adventure. The Donut Boat’s unique design allows up to ten people to sit around a center table with a center post umbrella for shade. Never driven a boat? No problem, you’ll receive an orientation. Austin Duck Derby
Anne Richards Bridge and Lady Bird Lake
August 4th, 2018 | 10:00 AM

Come on out to Lady Bird Lake for the annual Austin Duck Derby! At 11:00 a.m. sharp, organizers will release 20,000 eco-friendly ducks from the Congress Avenue Bridge into Lady Bird Lake and race them. The festival and race are free to attend, but if you’d like to adopt a duck, they’re available on the event website! The top-finishing ducks will win awesome prizes, and all proceeds from the event go to the Austin Boys and Girls club! After the duck race, be sure to hit up the festival for lots of fun, food, games and more!

Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival

The Austin Chronicle is hosting their 28th annual Hot Sauce Festival and Competition on Sunday, August 26th! The entry fee to the event is $5 or three non-perishable food items, all benefitting the Central Texas Food Bank! The event will have live music, the opportunity to sample hundreds of Central Texas’ best salsas, as well as local food and drinks. Enjoy this spicy event at Austin Fiesta Gardens!

 

 

 

 


 

Batfest 2018

Batfest is back this year with a ton of fun. The Mohawk

  On August 25th, venture over to the Mohawk and catch the Quesoff 2018! The 8th annual contest will feature hundreds of local quesos. Entrance is $2, or two canned goods, which will all go to Central Texas Food Bank!
